Damien Rice - Marley Park

The biggest headliner gig this troubadour did was last night in Marley park in Dublin. Together with many other singer-songwriter in the likes of Fion Regan, Willy Mason and KT Tunstell he proved to be able to entertain and satisfy this large crowd. Luckily the irish sky gods were with us today and kept it dry. Cleverly avoiding some cliches Damien played a nice mix of his louder songs (Woman like a man kicked ass), only to slow down once behind the piano for an excellent Accidental Babies (one of my favourite songs). Like all shows in his last tour he finished it off with the drunken man's version of Cheers Darlin', but not before inviting many friend on stage such as Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova.
Complements go out to the organisation at Marley Park. I've never seen such a well organised outdoor concert.

Norah Jones @ the Point Depot

Yesterday I went to see M Ward and Norah Jones in the Point Depot. Norah is the cutest jazz/blues inspired vocalist out there. She managed to embrace the large audience in the Point with her warm soft voice. Special mention should go out to the guitar player who's subtle bluesy riffs are excellent. No surprises, just what you expect. Quiet and relax songs.

Ruby Sessions in Doyles

Hmmm, some smooooooove jazz at the Ruby's last week. I forgot her name, but she is cooler than Miss Winehouse and Jones combined.
