vision of dublin

close your eyes, think of dublin,
hear the lad on the street picking his guitar?, recognise the song?, ï'll see your heart, and i'll raise you mine...(bell x1)", recognise that smell in the air?, yes, they are brewing guinness for the pubs in temple bar, you take a deep breath through your nose to catch the scent, small drops of irish rain fall down, they meet up with your skin, the small drops merge together and roll down your face, don't forget! they drive left when you want to cross the road, you walk towards the dock along pearce street, cross the bridge and ring my doorbell at nr 217, when you enter the apartment is heated to a comfortable temperature, in the corner the fake fireplace is shining, i'll take your wet coat and offer you a hot chocolade, you sip it and slowly you fall asleep on the couch, yes, you can get very tired from walking in the city and snifing the irish air, tomorrow again a day in Dublin, sweet dreams little angel.

new adress

Hey people,
Gonna move into an apartment overlooking the docks on saturday. I'm gonna share it with a belgian guy who also started this week at google. As soon as i have pics I will post them.
Not too much to report yet. I've been getting training and already started working on a small part of the job. Google has a great atmosphere and only young people (mid twenties) work there.
that's all for now.
PS: not only the dutch people like stroopwafels!!

Arrived well

Hey everybody. Last thursday i arrived in one piece in a rainy Dublin. The hostel i am staying in right now is very nice and is located in Ballsbridge which is one of the better areas in Dublin. It is a 20 minute walk towards the city center and about 15 minutes to Google.
On Friday we had a short meeting at google with someone from a relocating agency. She explained us about getting an appartment etc. I teamed up with Catherina, a swedish lady, to find an appartment. Unfortunately the letting agencies don't work in the weekends, so we haven't had a viewing yet. There are plenty of options near the office that we will check-out from monday onwards. We hope to find somthing in 4 days!! In the evening we were already invited to come to the formal christmas party. Not bad as a start, right?!
I've had my first strols in Dublin. It is a lovely city when the sun is shining. Everything is walkable. Today it is sunny, so i played the tourist and took some gorgeous pictures.
