Duke Special - support act for the Frames at Vicar street. Very worth while checking out people. Posted by Picasa

wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow

The 6th feb show by The Frames was really great. Opening act TKO was nice, a bit cheesy pop songs with a nice twist that could range from soul to jazz and ended with a pure californian sunshine song. Then Duke Special, a bit strange looking dude who could be great fiends with the singer from the Cure, but this Duke is very talented. His sound is a bit comparable to the old Elton John mixed with Brian Molko and then playing theatrical songs with witty lyrics. Big cheer to him!

And then, the main act, the guys from the Frames all sitting down doing a laid back gig with some nice loud parts as usual. I guess two third of the gig were new songs. All of them are great and some were just a bit better. Specially the funny Dance song is very enjoyable. A happy Frames songs. Sadly no Star star, Revelate or Fitzcaraldo. We did get great versions of Disappointed, Mighty sword and Santa Maria for example. *spoiler* The last song was a cute Neil Young version sung by Joe.

I enjoyed myself immensely last night and should now be patient to wait for the official recordings and release of those great new tunes.
